Trying My Hand At Quinoa Tonight
Tonight, I’m trying something to make quinoa. It’s a whole grain that’s really good for you.
I had already tried it once before, but I did NOT follow the instructions the way it should have. Sadly, the quinoa came out very watery.
God has instructions too, and they are in a book called the Holy Bible. Let me tell you what the word Bible stands for:
B – Basic
I – Instructions
B – Before
L – Leaving
E – Earth
God wants us to follow the instructions in His Word, just like I’m supposed to follow instructions when I cook. He also tells us to meditate in His Word:
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. – Joshua 1:8
See how God wants us to follow the instructions in His Word, not just to obey Him (although that’s very important). He’s telling us that if we obey His Word, we will prosper. I don’t know about you, but I think being successful in God’s eyes is better than worldly success ANY day!
Now Back To The Quinoa:
I just removed it from the heat and emptied the water. Now I have to let it stand for 15 minutes. Pray that it comes out the way it’s supposed to.
Father, I pray that Your people will read and study and follow Your Holy Word today. May they prosper and be in good health, even as their souls would prosper.
In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray….
Funny thing – I had started this post with the intention of talking about my cooking; I guess God is really involved in all the details… 😀
