Facebook Or Jesus? Whom Are YOU Serving This Day?
Facebook Or Jesus? Whom are YOU serving this day?
I know, I know – you’re probably looking at this right now, seeing the topic, and moving over to something else. But this is SO important, you guys! The Bible says in Joshua 24:15:
But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Exodus 20:3 says:
thou shalt have no other gods before Me…”
Now, granted, I am probably the last person to tell ANYBODY to stop using Facebook – this blog has its own page! I like going on there to see what’s goin on in the news, and to see if anybody posts a prayer need! And nothing’s wrong with any of that!
But now, here’s the thing that you guys gotta ask yourselves: are we spending more time on Facebook (and serving in the same process) or in God’s Word? Cos I’m gonna say this straight up – if we are spending more time on social media platforms than we are praying and reading the Bible, we are making social media our god!
Think about this – all of us are gonna go before God one day. And trust me – God ain’t gonna be asking us how much time we spent on Twitter or on Pinterest or, yes, on Facebook. He’s gonna ask if we have been saving souls for the Kingdom – not saving our own blessed assurance.
I don’t know about you guys – but I want God to be saying to me at the end….
well done, thou good and faithful servant”…..
So I’m gonna try and step up my game – and start spending a little bit less time on Facebook – and more time with God. What say you? Who’s in it with me?
Let me again leave you with the question I started out the beginning of this post with:
Facebook? or Jesus? Whom are YOU serving this day?
Think about it….the answer may make all the difference….
