Praying Without Ceasing – Did You Pray Today?
praying without ceasing – 1 Thess 5:17″
OK, so I took a bit of liberties with the above verse, but I wanted to ask you a question:
did YOU pray today?
As Christians, we need to stay close to the vine, which is Jesus. He’s the One that gives us the strength, the peace, and the wisdom to go through life.
And we can’t be praying just for ourselves and our own needs. I believe God has called us to intercede on behalf of others, on behalf of the world. Let’s face it – if you watch the news for even two minutes…..
you will never ask – ‘What should I be praying for?'”
Jesus has given us the Great Commission outlined in Matthew 28:19-20. We must witness Him to others, and we are to be praying for other people’s needs as well.
And it doesn’t have to even be the longest of prayers! If I’m walking, and an ambulance or fire truck goes by, I will pray. Anytime I’m watching the news, and they talk about a particular story that grabs me, I pray immediately!
If you have friends that are going through stuff, PRAY FOR THEM! They would do the same thing for you! And if they ARE going through stuff, something as simple as a quick text or phone call tells them you care!
Remember this – the Christian life is not sitting and hearing the Word on a Sunday morning! It’s telling others about Jesus, it’s showing His love to others – THAT’S the Christian walk!
But it must start with praying – praying without ceasing. Don’t you EVER stop praying for a situation – cos’ when you stop praying, the enemy wins!
and make sure that you pray the Word of God when you pray! This means you have to spend time in the Word to know what God says BEFORE you even pray!
