Stilling Myself And Knowing That God Is In Control
be still and know that I am God – Psalm 46:10″
You see that above verse? God’s trying to get me to be stilling myself more…
Last couple of months, I’ve been struggling with allergies and health issues. I’m taking meds and exercising and dieting, which is all well and good, but….
My pastor has occasionally said something to me, and she said it again last week. She seems to think that I need to relax more, and I probably do.
So last night, I’m laying in my bed resting, and I was asking God to help me. He put the above verse in my spirit. I also found myself doing a breakdown of Psalm 46:10, as well as Isaiah 26:3, which says:
thou will keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on me, because He trusteth in Thee….”
This is what I came up with:
“Be Still” – ceasing from excessive physical and mental activity
Letting the body, mind, and spirit rest
Not constantly running around or being obsessed with having to always be going out
Being calm, and learning to pace myself better
Not beating myself up when I make mistakes (God gave me this one as I was writing)
Surrendering EVERYTHING to God, letting Him be in charge of, which leads into….
“And Know” – understand
let go of my own self
“That I Am God” – He is in control, and He knows me better than I know of myself
His plans for me are good ones
He is my Lord and my Savior, and He loves me!
He is in command of me, so I don’t have to be worrying about anything!
He works out ALL things for my good, and His honor, praise, and glory!
His desire for me is to have His perfect peace.
I also broke down Isaiah 26:3:
Thou will keep Him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because He trusteth Thee…”
As I keep my mind focused on Him, and as I trust in Him and in His perfect ways, He will keep me in His perfect peace.
My prayer is that this blesses you in some way, and that it gives you some measure of peace.
